Our Story

The story of Kintorya began with a trip to Japan and a simple observation: many "Japanese-inspired" pants look great in photos but disappoint once worn.

Our mission: to create comfortable Japanese corduroy pants, with clear sizing, a pleasant fabric, and easy returns, designed for your everyday life.

Kintorya was born from a simple need: to be well-dressed, without the hassle.

The story of Lucas, founder of Kintorya.

My name is Lucas Sorel and I am 36 years old.
I'm a photographer, I travel whenever I can, and like many people, I spend my days in pants: at work, on the go, at home.

During a trip to Japan, I discovered the streets of Harajuku in Tokyo: loose cuts, comfortable fabrics, a style that blends workwear, streetwear and tradition. Nothing like the tight jeans and shapeless sweatpants you see everywhere.
I then thought to myself: “Why can’t we find this kind of everyday, easy-to-wear pants here, without breaking the bank?”

Upon returning to France, I started looking for "Japan-inspired" pants online.
I quickly realized that the problem wasn't just the design.

Often, it's the same story:

  • unclear sizing,
  • cuts that don't match European measurements,
  • complicated or opaque returns,
  • the impression that the customer comes after everything else.

Many people like me love Japanese culture, want a simple and comfortable style, but have neither the time nor the desire to deal with return hassles or customer service issues.
It was this gap between promise and reality that made me want to do things differently.

I don't come from haute couture.
I come from everyday life: files to deliver, travel, evenings with friends, weekends at the sea or in the mountains.

Like you, I'm mainly looking for:

  • trousers in which I can work, walk, travel,
  • a size that fits just right, without complicated calculations,
  • a pleasant material that lasts over time,
  • a brand I can trust.

Kintorya was born precisely from there: very simple needs, but rarely met.

Before launching the first pair of trousers, I took the time to work on three key areas:

1. Cut and Sizing

  • Loose and comfortable fit, inspired by Japanese silhouettes, but designed for European body types.
  • Clear size guide, based on actual measurements, to limit unpleasant surprises.

2. Material

  • Corduroy thick enough to last, but flexible enough to remain comfortable for everyday wear.
  • A pleasant feel that makes you want to wear it day after day.

3. Customer Relationship

  • A simple and clear return policy.
  • Exchanges possible when the size isn't right.
  • A human, accessible customer service that speaks like you and me.

The idea isn't to promise perfection, but to put transparency and comfort at the forefront, from choosing the size to after-sales service.

Kintorya is for everyone who wants Japanese-inspired corduroy pants that are comfortable, easy to wear, and affordable.

Whether you're a designer, an employee, a freelancer, a weekend traveler, or just someone who's tired of changing pants every three months, the goal is the same:
to offer you a piece in which you feel good, for a long time, without feeling like you're playing the lottery with every order.

Welcome to Kintorya.
